Description

The Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differential (MPN: 912A557) is a limited-slip differential designed for GM 8.5-inch 10-bolt front axles with 28-spline axle shafts and gear ratios of 2.73 and up. It weighs 26.72 lbs. Requires special bearings depending on the axle's bearing bore size. For axles prior to 1999 (small bearing bores ~2.89" race O.D.), bearing LM102949 and race LM102911 are needed. For axles from 1999-2013 (large bearing bores ~3.06" race O.D.), bearing LM603049 and race LM603012 are required. Manual locking hubs are recommended for front axle applications. A quality, petroleum-mineral based, GL5 rated 80w-90 gear oil should be used. Synthetic oils and/or friction modifiers should not be used.
