They offer superb bite from cold, making them safe for both highway and race track use. These pads are formulated for all track use as well as performance street use, with beveled edges and a center-line slot to prevent squeals and vent heat/gas. They are treated with EBC's unique Break-In surface coating for rapid bedding and strong braking power from the box, and the pads and pad plates are powder coated for rust-free service. These rotors are sized and shaped to OE factory dimensions with strict quality controls and machined to extremely tight tolerances (<0.05 millimeters). Made of high-quality "gray" iron, they meet or exceed factory original specifications regarding thermal buildup, brake noise, vibration, and wear. They feature an anodized layer designed to disappear in the area where the brake pads contact the rotor, and a Black GEOMET™ and NITROTHERM™ anti-corrosive finish. Recommended for normal street driving, high-performance street driving, truck or SUV use, drifting, and short track runs. The higher carbon content in the "gray" iron reduces brake shudder, heat cracking, and high-frequency vibrations. EBC recommends a 500-mile break-in period with lighter braking application.
