ECM Engine Control Unit

The Polini ECM control unit (P1710012) is an "engine control module" upgrade designed to enhance the performance of select Vespa and Piaggio 50cc 4-stroke iGET 3V Euro 5 scooters. This "plug & play" unit allows for customization through three distinct mappings. When installed, it increases the rev limiter from the stock 7,500 RPM to 8,100 RPM in Map 1, or up to 10,000 RPM in Maps 2 and 3 with the included valve springs. This upgrade can provide significant improvements in speed and acceleration. Map 1 offers a simple installation, replacing the original control unit to increase the rev limiter and achieve speeds of 50-53 km/h from a stock 45 km/h. For more advanced tuning, Map 2 requires the installation of the included Polini valve springs, enabling the engine to reach 10,000 RPM and boosting speeds to 56-60 km/h. Map 3 offers the highest performance potential, reaching speeds of 70-75 km/h, and may require additional components such as a Polini cylinder kit (140.0223) and extended ratios (202.1424) for optimal results. Polini recommends complementing this ECM unit with their variator (241.765), muffler (190.0079), and oversized air filter sleeve (223.0131) for enhanced performance, although it can function with the original engine components. Installation of the valve springs for Maps 2 and 3 requires engine disassembly. This control unit is specifically designed for the following models: PIAGGIO Liberty 50 4T iGET 3V ie Euro 5 (from 2021), ZIP 50 4T 3V ie E5 (from '21, CD01M), VESPA 50 4T Primavera 3V iGET E5 (from '21, CD01M), and VESPA 50 4T Sprint 3V iGET Euro 5 (from '21, VESPA SPRINT 3V Euro5 from 2021, CD01M).
