Ecotec Oil Return Timing Cover Plate

The ZZPerformance Ecotec oil return plate offers a streamlined solution for adding an oil drain to your custom Ecotec turbo setup. This plate is a direct replacement for the stock water pump inspection plate located on the timing cover, integrating a port for a -10orb fitting. Designed and machined at ZZPerformance, this plate ensures a secure and efficient oil return path for turbochargers. It is engineered to fit any Ecotec engine, encompassing variants such as the LSJ, LDK, LNF, LE5, and L61. This broad compatibility makes it a versatile component for various Ecotec-powered builds. When installing this oil return plate, careful consideration must be given to the oil return line's height and routing to ensure proper drainage back to the timing cover. Insufficient height on the turbo kit or an improperly configured drain line can lead to engine smoking issues. For applications where optimal drain height cannot be achieved, utilizing a scavenge pump in line with the drain is recommended. Additionally, some specific fittings might interfere with the vehicle's body. For FWD Delta chassis applications (Cobalt, HHR, Ion), a specialty thin 90° fitting may be required to ensure clearance. Optional accessories, such as the ZZP -10 AN Male to -10 ORB Banjo Fitting, are available separately to complete the installation.
