ECU Hand Held Tuner

The RENNtech ECU Hand Held Tuner (HHT) is a performance software upgrade designed for the Mercedes-Benz SL 500 R230, model years 2003-2006. This device allows for the unlimited ability to switch between tuned and stock ECU programming, requiring no ECU removal. The proprietary tuning module stores both the RENNtech tuned file and your vehicle's stock file, plugging directly into the OBD2 port to deliver the selected file to the ECU in a matter of minutes. The vehicle can be re-flashed as many times as desired. RENNtech's tuning software for the SL 500 aims to provide significant gains in horsepower and torque across the entire power band. This is achieved by modifying ignition timing and throttle mapping, optimizing air/fuel ratios, increasing the engine's rev limiter, and adjusting boost mapping for turbocharged vehicles. The goal is to unleash the vehicle's true potential while maintaining rock-solid daily driver reliability, backed by RENNtech's extensive experience and testing in ECU tuning since the mid-1980s. For the SL 500 (R230), the stock performance is rated at 302 HP @ 5600 RPM and 339 LB-FT @ 2700-4250 RPM. With the RENNtech HHT upgrade, the modified performance is increased to 320 HP @ 5600 RPM and 355 LB-FT @ 3000-4600 RPM, resulting in gains of +18 HP and +16 LB-FT.
