The APR ECU Upgrade is a performance software modification for the 1.4T EA211 engine, offering a significant increase in horsepower and torque. This upgrade optimizes the factory engine management system to unlock the engine's full potential, resulting in a quicker and more exciting driving experience. The software is installed directly through the OBD-II port, ensuring a straightforward and clean installation process without the need for any hardware modifications. This ECU upgrade offers multiple stages of performance, including Stage 1 and APR Plus, which comes with an optional limited powertrain warranty. The Stage 1 tune, for example, can deliver up to 181-189 HP with 258-275 FT-LBS of torque on 93 AKI fuel, with gains as high as +39 WHP and +68 WFT-LBS over stock (MK7). Various octane levels are supported, from 87 AKI up to 104 AKI in North America, and 95 RON to 98 RON in other regions. Additional features include linear throttle mapping, an increased soft RPM limiter, left-foot braking capability, and a raised speed limiter for turbo protection. The APR ECU Upgrade is compatible with several Volkswagen models, including the 2019-2021 VW Mk7.5 Golf 1.4T, the 2019 VW Mk7.5 Golf Sportwagen 1.4T, and the 2019+ VW Mk7 Jetta 1.4T.
