ECU Tune

The IdealRace ECU Tune is a specialized engine control unit recalibration for the Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0L and Stelvio. Developing this tune required IdealRace to create proprietary tools, including a high-speed RAM logger, to analyze the Magneti Marelli ECU's operations and control strategies. This extensive effort, involving countless dyno sessions, resulted in a unique calibration not found elsewhere. The tune optimizes ignition timing for specific fuel types such as 91 octane, 93 octane, VP MS109, and E85, allowing full E85 usage without hardware modifications. It also enhances the 2.0L Multi-Air variable valve system and integrates learnings from hybrid turbo development for significant performance improvements. Performance gains are measured at the wheels for transparency. Stock on 93 octane yields 242 whp / 293 wtq, while the E85 tune achieves 313 whp / 393 wtq. With IdealRace's carbon fiber intake and stainless-steel downpipe, the E85 tune can result in a 12.32-second quarter mile at 111 mph and a 13.60-second 60-130 MPH time. The software can be used on a stock vehicle, though power gains will be lower. Important notes for the E85 tune: it does not add flex-fuel capabilities but is calibrated for E60-E85 ethanol content. Users should verify fuel quality, as ethanol content can vary. The ECU must be shipped to IdealRace for bench flashing, and the company covers return shipping via UPS Next Day Air within the continental United States.
