The Active Autowerke Performance Software is a direct performance upgrade for select BMW E46 and E39 models from 1999-2003. This performance tune provides a significant increase in power, with a claimed gain of 15 horsepower and 12 ft-lbs of torque. It also optimizes air/fuel ratios, ignition tables, and wide-open throttle maps, resulting in a sportier throttle response and a smoother power delivery throughout the RPM band. For manual transmission vehicles, the software includes an increased RPM limiter to allow for more usable power. The Active Autowerke Performance Software is designed to work with 91-93 octane fuel and is a recommended upgrade for enthusiasts looking to maximize their vehicle's performance. It is particularly effective when combined with other bolt-on modifications, allowing those components to achieve higher gains.
