Overview

The TuneZilla FlashZilla v3 is a vehicle tuning device that allows users to receive engine tunes via email and upload them to their vehicle. It supports most 2000-current model year vehicles. The device features 6 storage slots for ECU files, with one slot for backing up the stock tune and five for modified tunes.

It includes an OBD2 cable for connecting to the vehicle and a USB cable for transferring tunes to a Windows computer. The FlashZilla v3 also offers the ability to clear ECU fault codes and supports ECU recovery for reliable flashes. Each device is VIN-locked, allowing only one car to be tuned per unit.

The TuneZilla FlashZilla v3 is a popular handheld device designed to facilitate engine tuning by allowing users to receive and upload custom tunes directly to their vehicle's ECU. It supports a wide range of vehicles from model year 2000 to the present. Key features include six storage slots for ECU files, with one dedicated to securely backing up your vehicle's original stock tune and five available for storing modified tunes. The device connects to your vehicle via an included OBD2 cable and to a Windows computer using a USB cable for tune transfer. Please note that Apple computers are not supported. Beyond tune uploading, the FlashZilla v3 can also clear ECU fault codes and provides ECU recovery functionality for more reliable flashing processes. A significant limitation is that the device is VIN-locked, meaning it can only be used to tune a single vehicle per unit. Additionally, DSG tuning is not supported with this tool. For vehicles from 2009 and newer, most OBD2 flash tools can only identify the ECU. In such cases, TuneZilla will check its database for matching ECU software. If no match is found, the ECU may need to be removed and sent to a dealer for reading the stock file before it can be used with the FlashZilla v3.
