The RENNtech ECU Upgrade utilizes a proprietary HHT (hand-held tuner) module that allows for seamless switching between tuned and stock ECU programming without requiring the ECU to be removed. This module stores both RENNtech's performance file and the vehicle's original file, connecting directly to the OBD2 port for easy uploading. The programming process takes only a few minutes and can be repeated as needed. With extensive experience in ECU tuning since the 1980s, RENNtech has developed this upgrade through countless hours of research, development, and testing, ensuring both significant performance gains and reliable daily driver performance. The tuning software optimizes ignition timing, throttle response, air/fuel ratios, and boost mapping for turbocharged engines. For the S 650 Maybach (W222) with the 6.0L BiTurbo V12 M279 engine, this ECU upgrade yields a substantial increase from the stock 621 HP and 738 LB-FT to an impressive 670 HP and 840 LB-FT.
