Resistance to viscosity breakdown is a critical measure of motor oil strength. Castrol EDGE is formulated to be exceptionally strong, offering 3X greater resistance to viscosity breakdown compared to leading full synthetics. This formulation protects vital engine parts, allowing for extended drain intervals of up to 20,000 miles. Furthermore, Castrol EDGE is engineered to handle the intense friction found in modern engines, delivering 10X better high-stress performance than the latest industry standards. This product comes in a 1.25-gallon (4.73-liter) jug and is characterized by its synthetic composition and 5W-20 viscosity grade, ensuring it flows like a 5-weight oil when cold and a 20-weight oil when warm.
