Overview

The BorgWarner EFR 9180 is a turbocharger designed for high-performance applications. It features a 91mm OD compressor wheel with a 67.7mm inducer and a 7-blade extended-tip FMW design. This turbo is capable of flowing up to 95 lb/min of airflow and is ideal for single turbo applications in the 700-1000hp range, or as a high-power twin-turbo setup for 1000-1700+hp.

The BorgWarner EFR 9180 turbocharger redefines the capabilities of 67mm turbos, drawing on design elements used by Honda's Indycar team and world-renowned racing teams. This unit is capable of flowing 94lb/min of air and offers spool characteristics comparable to much smaller turbos. The compressor features a 91mm OD exducer and a 67.7mm inducer with a 7-blade extended-tip Forged-Milled Wheel (FMW) design. It includes an integrated compressor recirculation valve and a 4″ ported shroud inlet with a 2.5″ outlet. The turbine side utilizes a low-inertia Gamma-Ti turbine wheel with an 80mm OD and a stainless steel turbine housing that terminates in a GT V-Band. Built with dual-row ceramic ball bearings for reduced friction and faster response, the EFR 9180 also features a water-cooled center section, recommended for optimal durability. Double seals on both turbine and compressor ends enhance longevity and prevent oil seepage. This turbo is available with .83 a/r (undivided T3 IWG) or 1.05 a/r and 1.45 a/r divided twin scroll T4 housings, with options for internal or external wastegates. The maximum turbo speed is 116krpm.
