Overview

The Improved Racing EGM-112 is a low-profile thermostatic oil cooler adapter block designed for GM LS family engines. It bolts directly to the factory oil bypass cover, above the oil filter, and features a built-in thermostat to prevent oil temperatures from dropping below optimal levels. This helps reduce engine wear and horsepower losses. The adapter is constructed from 6061-T6 billet aluminum with a black MIL-A-8625 Type II anodized finish and Viton seals.

The Improved Racing EGM-112 is a low-profile thermostatic oil cooler adapter designed for GM LS family engines with rear-sump oil pans. It replaces the factory oil bypass cover, positioning the oil filter for optimal header clearance. The integrated thermostat helps maintain oil temperatures at or above 180°F (82°C) +/- 5°F, reducing engine wear and potential horsepower losses associated with overly cool oil. Constructed from a single piece of 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this adapter features a durable black MIL-A-8625 Type II anodized finish and utilizes Viton seals throughout for reliable sealing. It includes a 1/8" NPT port for an oil sensor or turbo oil feed line and standard female -08AN O-ring boss ports, with optional adapter fittings available for -08AN, -10AN, or -12AN lines. The adapter can be mounted upside down on 2010+ Camaro/G8 oil pans for additional header clearance. This adapter is compatible with all 1997 and later GM LS family engines (Gen III & IV) with rear-sump oil pans, including LS1/LS6, LS2, LS3, LS7, L76/L92/L93, LQ4/LQ9, LS9, and LSA. It also fits all GM Gen III & IV Vortec V8 engines. However, it does not fit iron block LSX engines without notching and is not suitable for front-sump pans like those found on Pontiac GTO, Holden/Vauxhall Monaro, or Commodore oil pans. Installation notes recommend specific AN fittings based on motor mount configuration and oil pan type for optimal performance and fit.
