Description

The Bosch F00MA45212 is a voltage regulator designed to maintain a constant range of alternator voltage output. It converts the AC produced by the alternator into the DC required by the vehicle. The regulator limits the alternator's voltage output to 12-14 volts, preventing overcharging or undercharging of the battery and protecting electrical components.

Signs of a faulty voltage regulator include surging or flickering lights, instrument cluster malfunctions, illuminated battery or check engine lights, and a battery that is not being charged. Fluctuating battery voltage or drops in alternator output at idle can indicate a failed voltage regulator.
