The BD Diesel Electronic Exhaust Brake is designed to enhance towing safety by providing up to 150 retarding horsepower. This system integrates inline into the existing exhaust system, utilizing the OEM dash button for activation. This electronic system eliminates the need for an air compressor and air lines, reducing maintenance requirements and potential cold-weather failures associated with conventional air brakes. It features BD's exclusive Variable Orifice Technology, which ensures consistent and controlled pressure regulation across the entire RPM range, resulting in effective engine braking, particularly on steep descents. Engine tuning is required for the brake function. The product is EPA compliant (EMS:2) but is not for sale on licensed California vehicles.
