The Lectric Limited 38131 is an electronic ignition conversion kit designed to replace factory points.

This kit offers a simple, single-wire hookup that utilizes your existing factory distributor wiring. It maintains a stock appearance once installed and does not interfere with the factory air cleaner, unlike HEI distributors. It is made in the USA and comes with a 3-year limited warranty.

The Lectric Limited 38131 Electronic Ignition Conversion Kit provides a straightforward upgrade from breaker-point ignition systems to solid-state electronic ignition. Installation is designed to be simple and can typically be completed in 15-20 minutes without removing the distributor. The entire system fits discreetly under the distributor cap. Key features include single-wire operation, auto shut-off to protect the coil and battery, and Hall Effect rotary-vane sensor technology that is resistant to contaminants and compensates for distributor end-play. It also includes over-voltage, over-current, and reversed battery protection. The kit is compatible with most 1957-1974 GM V8 engines that utilize a window-style distributor cap, a screw-on rotor, and an original-type coil (with 1.2-1.8 ohm primary resistance). It works with either vacuum or mechanical advance distributors and single or dual points. Lectric Limited recommends using all original/stock factory components, including the distributor, cap, wiring harness, and ballast resistor or resistance wire (as originally equipped) for proper operation. Note that these kits are not recommended for vehicles driven in winter conditions below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, as extreme cold can affect ignition component resistances.
