The hardcoat anodized aluminum valve is built to combat premature wear, and annular grooves help center the valve in the bore to reduce side-loading.

The Sonnax elevated pressure regulator valve kit (76948-12K) is engineered to resolve common issues in Ford 4R70E, 4R70W, 4R75E, 4R75W, and AODE transmissions, particularly those exhibiting delayed engagements and burnt forward clutches due to low line pressure. These problems can be exacerbated in heavy-duty or performance applications. By providing a modified valve and a stronger spring, this kit effectively raises base line pressure, thereby mitigating these operational concerns. The kit features a hardcoat anodized aluminum valve, a material chosen for its resistance to premature wear. Additionally, annular grooves are incorporated into the valve design. These grooves aid in centering the valve within its bore, which helps to reduce side-loading and promote smoother operation. This kit's valve is designed to replace both styles of OE valve found in 1996 and later transmission units.
