EMU Black Engine Management System

Designed as the successor to the proven ECUMaster EMU, the EMU Black targets a wide range of applications including modified race cars, passenger cars, motorcycles, boats, and stationary engines. It is capable of managing fueling, ignition, and auxiliary systems for engines up to 12 cylinders, including those with drive-by-wire throttles and VVT. The system can directly drive up to 6 passive or 12 smart coils without the need for external amplifiers. Constructed with a custom CNC-machined aluminum enclosure rated IP65, the EMU Black is built to withstand harsh environments. It operates within a wide temperature range of -40 to 105°C (AECQ100 Grade 2) and features built-in reverse polarity and short-circuit protection with an operating voltage range of 6-22V, offering resistance to transients according to ISO 7637 standards. Connectivity is facilitated via USB (with Windows software suite), serial, and CAN-Bus. The EMU Black offers extensive input and output capabilities, including 9 analog inputs (10-bit, 0-5V), 2 EGT inputs, 2 knock sensor inputs, and direct compatibility with Bosch LSU 4.2/4.9 or narrowband lambda probes. It supports 3 trigger inputs (crankshaft, 2x camshafts), a vehicle speed sensor (Hall/VR), and a dedicated Flex Fuel sensor input. For outputs, it provides 8 injector outputs (5A protected, low side), 6 ignition outputs (15A rated for passive/active coils, supporting up to 12 cylinders in wasted spark), and 6 auxiliary outputs (5A protected, low side).
