It controls fueling, ignition, and auxiliary systems for engines ranging from 1 to 12 cylinders, including those with drive-by-wire throttles and Variable Valve Timing (VVT). The adaptable firmware supports various crank trigger patterns and can directly drive up to 6 passive or 12 smart coils without external amplifier modules. This ECU integrates numerous features, such as built-in wideband lambda input for Bosch LSU 4.2 sensors, an on-board 4-bar MAP sensor, two EGT probe inputs, and an input for a Flex Fuel ethanol content sensor. These integrated capabilities enhance flexibility, reduce costs, and eliminate the need for associated wiring from external signal conditioning systems. Software-controlled options include map switching, launch control, adaptive Lambda control, flex fuel, and wheel slip control. Technical specifications highlight its robust design, featuring IP60 enclosure protection, AECQ100 GRADE3 temperature range (-40 to +85°C), and internal reverse battery protection. It operates on 6-20V with immunity to transients per ISO 7637 and draws less than 0.5A. Connectivity is provided via USB, serial, or CAN (with an additional module). The unit offers 6 protected injector outputs (5A, low side), 6 ignition outputs (7A peak), 6 auxiliary outputs (5A, low side), and stepper outputs (full bridge up to 0.8A). It also includes inputs for EGT, knock sensors, oxygen sensors (LSU 4.2 or Narrowband), trigger inputs (Hall/VR selectable), and VSS.
