The Nissan 21200-V7205 engine coolant thermostat serves as a critical component for maintaining proper operating temperatures within the cooling system. This thermostat is compatible with several Nissan models, including the 1998-2002 Frontier (SE, XE trim with 3.3L VG33E engine), 1991-1994 Maxima (SE trim with 3.0L VE30DE engine), 1997-2002 Pathfinder (LE, SE, XE trim with 3.3L VG33E engine), 1996-2002 Quest (GXE, SE, XE trim with 3.0L or 3.3L VG30E/VG33E engines), and 2000-2002 Xterra (SE, XE trim with 3.3L VG33E engine). When replacing the thermostat, the cooling system must be drained and the thermostat housing cover removed. It is recommended to clean all surfaces and apply a new bead of RTV sealant around the cover perimeter, ensuring the new unit is installed with the jiggle valve facing upward. After installation, the cooling system requires a full refill and bleeding process to ensure proper operation and the elimination of air pockets.
