The Volkswagen 044121113 is a factory-specification engine coolant thermostat engineered to regulate internal temperature through a temperature-sensitive wax pellet. By precisely controlling the flow of coolant into the radiator, this unit ensures your engine reaches and maintains its designated thermal range, preventing the performance drops and emissions issues associated with a valve stuck in the open or closed position. Please note that while it serves a broad range of vehicles, it is not compatible with the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4, despite potential cross-reference data. For optimal performance, always pair this unit with a fresh 50x4mm O-ring to ensure a leak-free seal against the thermostat flange. Installation requires access to the cooling system, and it is vital to properly bleed all trapped air from the system after replacement to prevent pressurization failures. Users should exercise caution to avoid over-tightening the flange bolts, as this can crack the plastic housing. Due to the high failure rate of aftermarket alternatives that may not correctly seat against housing retention pins, use of this genuine OEM part is recommended.
