The BMW Genuine Parts 11537586885 is a direct replacement engine coolant thermostat kit, ensuring a precise fit for compatible BMW models. It replaces older BMW part numbers 11-53-0-304-425 and 11-53-7-502-779. Its dimensions are approximately 9.4 x 8.2 x 5.8 inches, and it weighs around 0.70 pounds. The installation process involves draining the cooling system, removing air intake components and the fan shroud, disconnecting electrical harnesses and coolant hoses, and then removing the old thermostat housing. Installation of the new unit is the reverse of removal, emphasizing the need for clean sealing faces, a new gasket, and proper coolant filling and bleeding procedures.
