The IE Engineering Torque Plate (Part# IETLVA3) is a precision tool for engine builders and performance enthusiasts. Its primary function is to ensure that engine cylinders are perfectly round after boring, which is crucial for high-performance engines. The plate works by simulating the distortion that occurs when a cylinder head is bolted onto the engine block. By mounting this torque plate to the block before boring, mechanics can ensure the cylinder bores are true and round in their operational state, preventing issues like oil blow-by, compression loss, and premature wear. This comprehensive kit includes a precision-machined torque plate, necessary machined spacers, and wear-resistant hardened steel shims.
