The AMPEFI MSPNP-Pro Plug & Play ECU is a fully standalone engine management solution designed to enhance the performance of your 2001-2005 USDM Mazda NB2 Miata with a 1.8L VVT engine and manual transmission. It provides a custom-tuned setup for motorsports and off-road applications, featuring a straightforward plug-and-play installation that requires no additional wiring for basic functionality and can typically be installed in under an hour. A base map is pre-loaded to ensure the engine starts easily, and the system supports real-time tuning and data logging through a laptop connection, with 8GB of internal data logging capability. The ECU is compatible with most aftermarket wideband sensors for accurate tuning. This ECU offers extensive tuning capabilities, including 16×16 fuel and ignition tables for precise control, multiple acceleration enrichment strategies, and closed-loop idle speed control. It supports sequential fuel and ignition channels, can manage air conditioner load, and allows for the removal of the stock airflow meter. Advanced features include 12×12 air-fuel ratio target tables for wideband O2 sensors, full factory VVT control, programmable voltage regulator control, and multiple traction control strategies (requires a front wheel VSS). Additional features for enhanced performance and control include a built-in 3-step rev limiter/launch control with flat shift and burnout options, real-time barometric correction, an internal 4-bar MAP sensor capable of reading up to 44 PSI of boost, overboost protection, and closed-loop boost control (requires EBC solenoid kit). It also supports rally-style anti-lag, water injection control, knock sensor input, table switching for on-the-fly map changes, flex fuel sensor input for seamless fuel switching, and a CANBus connector for integration with other MegaSquirt-compatible devices. It is not compatible with the 2004-2005 USDM Turbo MazdaSpeed Miata. The ECU comes with essential documentation including an installation guide, user manual, base tune, firmware, and tuning software.
