The Mazdaspeed Competition Engine Mount is engineered to enhance engine stability in 1990-2005 Mazda Miata NA and NB vehicles. Constructed from 75A durometer urethane, these mounts are about 40% stiffer than the factory 55A durometer units. This upgrade is crucial for performance driving, as it minimizes engine tilt during aggressive cornering, which can cause shifter linkage flex and lead to missed gear shifts. The product is a direct bolt-in replacement and fits either the left or right side. While these competition mounts offer significant performance benefits, an increase in Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) at idle is expected, as confirmed by user feedback. Some drivers report a noticeable vibration at idle that may improve slightly over time but is inherent to the stiffer material. For those prioritizing longevity in hard track use, these mounts are expected to last longer than stock mounts, which typically last about a year.
