This prevents common failures like cracked oil pump gears and damaged bearings, which can lead to sudden oil pressure loss and catastrophic engine damage. This damper offers improved vibration absorption, resulting in a smoother-running engine, unlike billet underdrive pulleys that can be detrimental to engine longevity. This specific version features an exclusive 36-2 trigger wheel for enhanced timing resolution with aftermarket engine management systems like the Hydra 2.7. Installation requires a balancer installer as the damper needs to be accurately pressed on. Key installation considerations include the need for a 1999-2005 crankshaft sensor, which requires re-wiring and programming; stock 1996-1997 sensors are not compatible.
