The CSF #8242 is an OEM+/High-Performance Engine Oil Cooler meticulously engineered for the Porsche 911 and 930 Turbo (1965-1989). Recognizing the age and potential failure points of original coolers, CSF developed this modern solution. Original units, even refurbished ones, can be prone to leaks due to brittle materials or warped mounting plates. Furthermore, even new OE replacements from Porsche's classic catalog have been reported to leak within months. Developed in collaboration with leading Porsche engine builders like SV Auto and R&D partner Brian Day, the CSF 8242 utilizes a modern tube-and-fin core that offers improved oil flow and less pressure drop compared to the original Behr design. To further enhance durability and reliability, CSF employs a CNC-machined billet aluminum base plate, providing a perfectly flat and warp-resistant mounting surface, unlike the original cast design. The O-ring recesses are precisely milled into the billet for a guaranteed seal. It incorporates "Widemouth" stainless steel fittings that offer 50% greater flow capacity than OEM connections. CSF has engineered a single unit compatible with both early (1965-1973) and late (1974-1989) models, featuring different fittings to maintain optimal oil flow. The cooler is finished with a Titanium color Thermal Heat Dispersion Cerakote, which not only enhances heat dissipation but also provides a durable, anti-corrosive, and classy OEM+ aesthetic.
