Engine Transmission Adapter Plate

The Collins Performance JZ-BMW-ADAPTER is a precision-machined adapter plate that facilitates the connection between 1JZ and 2JZ engines and BMW ZF and Getrag transmissions. This adapter is engineered to enable engine and transmission combinations without requiring modifications to the transmission tunnel, making it suitable for swaps into chassis like the Lexus IS300, Toyota MKIV Supra, and Lexus SC300/SC400. The adapter plate is compatible with a wide range of JZ engines, including VVTI and non-VVTI variants of the 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GTE, and 2JZ-GE. It also mates with several BMW transmissions, such as the SF-39 (5-speed) found in BMW 3 Series (E46) and 5 Series (E39), E36 5-speed ZF and Getrag gearboxes, E46 5-speed ZF and Getrag gearboxes, and the GS6-37BZ (6-speed) used in BMW Z4 and Z4M, as well as the E46 330i and M3 6-speed gearboxes. Included with the adapter plate are the 1JZ/2JZ engine side bolt kit, BMW ZF transmission side bolt kit, BMW dowel pins, and an adapter plate with machined dowel pin recesses. The design also incorporates features for easier starter removal, utilizing M10 studs and nuts for open-faced starters. Components recommended for installation include a 2JZ open-faced starter, a 1999 BMW E36 M3 pressure plate, and a clutch disc appropriate for the original transmission/engine combination, along with the stock clutch release bearing, fork mechanism, and BMW slave cylinder.
