Engineering Forged H-Beam Connecting Rods

The Integrated Engineering IERHVT1 forged H-beam connecting rods are engineered as a robust upgrade for VW and Audi 2.0T TSI EA888 Gen 1 & 2 engines utilizing stock pistons. These rods are manufactured from vacuum-drawn 4340 Chrome Moly steel, formed via a two-piece forging process to maximize fatigue life. Each rod undergoes a multi-stage heat treatment for superior strength, dimensional stability, and enduring performance, ensuring the big-end bores remain round for a lifetime of trouble-free bearing service. Designed with a focus on strength-to-weight ratio, the optimized H-beam design is rigorously validated using modern CAD and FEA analysis. This ensures the rods are as light and strong as possible, making them ideal for high-rpm European applications. Integrated Engineering pays meticulous attention to detail, including bearing tangs, wrist pin fit, and big-end side clearance. Every set is finish machined and honed in the USA on Sunnen equipment to achieve exceptionally tight tolerances, down to .0003 inches, leading to industry-low failure rates. Included with the IERHVT1 connecting rods are standard ARP 2000 rod bolts. For enhanced wrist pin longevity, an optional rifle-drilled configuration is available, which forces pressurized oil through the rod to further lubricate the pin and bushing, reducing wear and friction between the rod and piston. This is particularly recommended for street-driven vehicles that accumulate higher mileage. Key features of the IERHVT1 rods include their 144mm center-to-center length, a 21mm tapered wrist pin, and the use of 3/8" ARP 2000 rod bolts. They are designed for a special drop-in fitment for the 2.0 TSI engine. These connecting rods are compatible with a range of VW and Audi models, including the A4 B8, A5 B8, TT Mk2, VW CC, EOS, Golf/GTI Mk5 & Mk6, and Mk5 GLI variants, all equipped with the 2.0T TSI engine.
