The Autofab 1965-79 Ford 2wd Truck Equal Length Tie Rod Steering System is a direct-fit upgrade for 1965-79 Ford 2-wheel drive trucks. This system eliminates the bump steer issues found in typical Y-style Ford steering setups. It features a reconstructed pitman arm and an idler arm assembly on the right frame rail cross member corner, allowing the idler arm to drive the left wheel. This design ensures the tie rods are equal in length.

The Autofab Equal Length Tie Rod Steering System is engineered for 1965-1979 Ford 2-wheel drive trucks, specifically addressing and eliminating the bump steer problems inherent in the factory Y-style Ford steering. This system reconfigures the steering linkage with a highly reconstructed pitman arm that connects to the right wheel and an idler arm assembly positioned on the right frame rail cross member corner. The idler arm then drives the left wheel, creating equal length tie rods. Constructed with 1.25-inch diameter 4130 chrome-moly steel tubes, the tie rods feature welded threaded bungs with milled flats for wrench access. The system utilizes 3/4-inch alloy rod ends for connecting the tie rods. Included with the kit is all necessary hardware, high-angle spacers, and grade 8 bolts. Significant attention has been paid to the construction of the pitman and idler arms. This kit requires necessary work on the vehicle's spindle steering arms and necessitates a stock pitman arm exchange. The result of this upgrade is greatly improved cornering and overall handling characteristics for your 1965-1979 Ford 2WD truck.
