The Evolution Racewerks ER Sports Series Oil Cooler Upgrade Kit is engineered to combat high oil temperatures in BMW N55 engines, commonly experienced during spirited driving or track use. The stock N55 oil cooler is undersized, leading to oil temperatures that can exceed 250 degrees Fahrenheit, causing oil breakdown, reduced lubrication, and potential damage to engine bearings. This upgrade maximizes oil cooling, stabilizes temperatures, and enhances the reliability and longevity of the engine, making it suitable for daily drivers, fast road builds, and track cars. The kit boasts a massive core increase, expanding from the factory 41 cubic inches to 144 cubic inches – over 350% larger capacity. It features a race-bred enclosure with louvres to protect the cooler from road debris while maintaining airflow, developed from the ER 135i Time Attack car. Premium hardware, including Goodrich black anodized AN fittings and stainless steel braided oil lines, ensures durability and high performance. The upgrade also retains the factory oil heatsink for additional cooling capacity. Optional aluminum shrouding is available to direct airflow more efficiently, and the cooler is offered in raw silver or a stealthy, durable Type III Hard Anodised Black finish that resists impact from road debris.
