The Bosch 0 280 158 117 is a high-performance EV14 fuel injector, often referred to as a "50lb" or "520cc" injector. It features the standard "S" body geometry with a length of 48.65mm and utilizes a modern USCAR/EV6 electrical connector. This injector is designed with a Type E dual-cone spray pattern, featuring a 15° split angle and a 12° offset angle for precise fuel targeting in multi-valve cylinder heads. The coil resistance is high-impedance at 12.0 Ohms. Flow rated at 50 lb/hr / 520 cc/min (374 g/min) at 300 kPa (43.5 PSI), its volumetric flow is approximately 547 cc/min using N-Heptane and an estimated 520 cc/min with Gasoline. It is compatible with E85, Methanol, and Gasoline, featuring Viton O-rings (Blue Upper / Green Lower) and stainless steel internals for durability. The injector's connector is oriented 90° relative to the spray split. While many European tuner engines can consider these 550cc injectors an upgrade, specific applications may require modifications. For instance, Mercedes M113-equipped models may need a jumper harness due to the USCAR connector differing from the Mercedes EV6 Jetronic. Volkswagen and Audi 1.8T owners may find these to be direct drop-ins without a harness adapter, but engine work and an ECU tune are still necessary.
