EVO4 FWD High-Flow CAT

The CTS Turbo EVO4 FWD High-Flow CAT is engineered to replace the restrictive factory downpipe on the MK8 VW GTI and 8Y Audi A3 platforms, particularly those equipped with a Garrett turbocharger. Constructed from 3-inch mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing and featuring a 3.5-inch cast stainless steel downpipe flange, this component is designed to significantly improve exhaust gas flow. The factory downpipe is a known bottleneck for performance, especially on tuned vehicles. By enabling smoother flow, this high-flow catalytic converter helps free up additional horsepower and improves exhaust sound without introducing drone. Key features include 100% TIG-welded construction for durability, a removable reducer to ensure compatibility with the factory exhaust system, and the retention of factory mounting locations for a straightforward installation. Stainless steel clamps are also included. This downpipe is specifically designed for the EVO4 FWD platform. Fitment is confirmed for 2022 and newer VW MK8 GTI and 2022 and newer Audi 8Y Audi A3 models. It is important to note that this high-flow cat is not compatible with vehicles equipped with OPF/GPF (Otto Particulate Filter/Gasoline Particulate Filter). Additionally, while the downpipe retains factory mounting locations, many 2022+ vehicles feature updated, tamper-proof downpipe hangers. An older-style hanger (part number 1K0253144AE) may need to be purchased separately from an OEM parts retailer if removal proves difficult. To avoid a Check Engine Light (CEL) that will occur due to the altered exhaust flow, proper tuning software must be used; consult your tuner for the appropriate solution.
