The Kenwood P-XW1221SHP is a pre-loaded ported enclosure housing a 12-inch Excelon Series subwoofer, designed to deliver powerful and accurate bass. The enclosure itself is constructed from Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) for durability and optimal acoustic performance, featuring a slant-back design with a flared port for enhanced output. The subwoofer cone is made from injection polypropylene with a dual area design and a diamond array pattern, which helps to minimize distortion and maintain sound clarity. The stress-controlled spider and rubber surround ensure precise cone movement. Key specifications include a 2-ohm impedance, 500W RMS power handling (2000W peak power), and a frequency response of 30 Hz to 300 Hz, with a sensitivity of 79 dB. The enclosure is capable of down-firing installation for increased output and installation flexibility. It features push terminals for easy connection. The subwoofer is equipped with a steel mesh grille for protection.
