Exhaust X/Y/Z Pipe Module

The "XYZ" designation highlights its adaptability, capable of being configured as an X pipe, Y pipe, or Z pipe, forming the foundation for a fully variable exhaust setup. Its modular nature allows for customization with interchangeable "modules" connected via a V-band clamp. Options include a straight pipe with a 3-inch outlet, a 4.5-inch glass-packed resonator with a 3-inch outlet, or a 4-inch high-flow catalytic converter (HFC) with a 3-inch outlet. This modularity provides advantages when used with test pipes, as a resonator or catalytic converter can be incorporated to improve sound quality and emissions without sacrificing power. Development testing revealed that Y-pipe merge point distance significantly impacts performance, with deviations from the optimum degrading torque and throttle response. The Motordyne XYZ pipe merges exhaust gases at this precisely determined optimal point. The design also incorporates an extension behind the primary merge, which allows for the integration of a resonator for improved sound or an optional catalytic converter, further benefiting power gains and emissions control, especially when paired with test pipes.
