Unlike basic lift kits, these springs utilize a progressive rate design with 9-10 thinner, premium 5160 "American Made" steel leaves. This construction results in a much smoother, more linear compression curve throughout the suspension cycle, significantly improving ride quality and load-carrying capacity. The Expedition Series is offered in three stages to match your specific build's constant bed weight. Stage I is for 0-300 lbs, ideal for trucks with lighter loads like a bed cover or rack. Stage II is recommended for 400-600 lbs, suitable for most overlanders with a bed rack, rooftop tent, and recovery gear. Stage III is for heavy-duty applications, designed for 700-1,000 lbs of constant weight, perfect for rigs with full steel bumpers, tire carriers, and substantial camping equipment. Each stage provides approximately a 2-inch lift, varying with the load. Key features include full military-wrapped spring eyes for superior durability, diamond-cut inner leaf ends to minimize shear points and internal friction, and anti-friction pads between the leaves for a smoother, quieter operation. The enhanced articulation from the thinner leaf design also improves traction in technical off-road conditions. Each set includes driver and passenger side leaf packs, and Overland Outfitters includes a free Polyurethane Bushing Kit. Installation is considered moderately difficult, requiring basic tools like a floor jack and jack stands. Old U-bolts should never be reused; fresh hardware is required for proper torque.
