It excels in demanding applications where conventional synthetic oils may fall short, such as those subjected to high final compression temperatures or requiring extended oil drain intervals. Key features of the Mobil SHC Rarus Series include outstanding thermal and oxidation stability, which contribute to reduced maintenance downtime by enabling extended oil drain intervals. Its excellent varnish and sludge control helps maintain compressor cleanliness and prolong oil life. The lubricant is formulated with high-performance synthetic base stocks and a high viscosity index, allowing for a wide temperature range capability and effective lubrication even at high operating temperatures. Furthermore, its high load-carrying capability protects equipment, extending its service life and minimizing unexpected downtime. This compressor oil provides exceptional resistance to rusting and corrosion, along with very good antiwear properties. It also offers excellent demulsibility, foam control, air release, and multi-metal compatibility. The superior water separability is crucial for reducing carryover to downstream equipment, minimizing sludge formation in crankcases and discharge lines, preventing blockages in coalescers and coolers, and reducing the potential for emulsion formation.
