External Oil Screen Filter Kit

The JHM Stainless Braided Turbo Oil Line and Strainer/Screen Relocation Kit provides a critical upgrade for the Audi 4.0T engine, directly addressing Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 2044640. This TSB highlights the risk of turbocharger failure due to a clogged OEM oil strainer, which can starve the turbos of essential lubrication and lead to costly repairs. This kit eliminates the problematic factory strainer and replaces it with two easily accessible, externally mounted oil screen filters. For added protection, a Velcro heat sleeve is included. The unique dome-shaped design of the JHM filters increases surface area and helps prevent complete clogging, allowing oil to continue flowing even if debris accumulates. The installation process is designed to be 100% bolt-in, requiring no cutting or modifications to the vehicle. This significantly simplifies maintenance, as servicing the new filters can be done frequently without the extensive labor involved in accessing the OEM strainer. The kit is compatible with both factory and upgraded turbos, provided they retain the use of the OEM oil feed lines. This product fits the following Audi models with the 4.0t V8 32v engine: RS7 (C7-C7.5, 2014-2018), S6 (C7-C7.5, 2013-2018), S7 (C7-C7.5, 2013-2018), S8 (D4-D4.5, 2013-2017), and A8 (D4-D4.5, 2011-2017).
