The Calico Coated ACL Race Rod Bearing Set offers superior durability and performance for extreme automotive applications. These are not simply coated OEM bearings; they begin as premium ACL brand race shells. The hardened steel backing provides increased crush for better retention, while enhanced ovality accounts for rod distortion at high RPMs. A high-strength overlay plate ensures maximum fatigue resistance. These base bearing shells are then professionally coated by Calico, resulting in a high-performance bearing from the inside out. The set is available in standard clearance or with an optional +.0005" per shell, providing .001" of additional bearing clearance ideal for the most demanding applications. Important compatibility note: Factory rods that do not accept tang bearings are not compatible with this set. These bearings are exclusively intended for installation with IE Rods. This product fits a range of Audi and Volkswagen 4-cylinder models, including the A3 8P, B5 A4, B6 A4, B7 A4, TT MKI, TTS MK2, Golf IV, Golf R, Golf V, Jetta IV, Jetta V, and Passat B5. Specific fitment may require using the vehicle selector, and some models have engine-specific notes, such as requiring FSI engines or being compatible with 1.8T or 2.0T engines.
