The Odyssey ODX-AGM3478 Extreme Series AGM battery is engineered to meet the power demands of modern vehicles, which are increasingly equipped with numerous electronic components. Its construction utilizes pure virgin lead plates, enabling a higher density of plates compared to typical batteries. This increased plate surface area translates to substantially more power output. This battery offers exceptional performance, delivering twice the overall power and up to three times the service life of conventional batteries, with the capacity for up to 400 cycles at an 80% depth of discharge. It provides the massive starting power, rapid recovery, and deep cycling capability required by today's vehicles. Key specifications include 1500 Pulse (5-second) Hot Cranking Amps (PHCA), 850 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA), and 1250 HCA. The 20-hour nominal capacity is 68 Ah, with a 10-hour capacity of 62 Ah. Reserve capacity is rated at 135 minutes. The battery features both SAE top posts and 3/8 inch threaded side receptacles, with a torque spec of 60 in-lbs (6.8 Nm) for the side terminals only. Its operating temperature range is -40°F to 176°F (-40°C to +80°C).
