The Kenwood EZ-500 is a CD/MP3/WMA receiver designed for car audio systems. It features a detachable faceplate with a white dot-matrix display. This unit is compatible with CD-R and CD-RW discs and can play MP3 and WMA files.

The integrated CR-2 tuner provides access to 18 FM and 6 AM presets, with HD Radio readiness requiring an optional Kenwood HD Radio tuner. For enhanced audio control, the EZ-500 includes Kenwood's System Q Sound Control, offering six preset EQ curves tailored to different music genres, along with independent bass, treble, and midrange controls.
