The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Baseplate is a vehicle-specific component designed for flat towing a vehicle. It integrates into the vehicle's frame and undercarriage, utilizing existing holes for a quick and easy installation. Each base plate is custom-made for a specific year, make, and model, and its structural integrity and maximum strength are ensured through computer-simulated 'Finite Element Analysis' (FEA). The base plate is powder-coated for a durable finish and features easily removable front arms when the vehicle is not being towed. All Roadmaster base plates are designed, tested, and manufactured in the USA. This 'Direct-Connect' style allows a tow bar to connect directly to the base plate, eliminating the need for a crossbar, and is recommended for motorhome-mounted tow bars.
