These gears are a re-design from the original two-section component to a three-section construction, which allows for precise tuning while maintaining the noise-reducing scissors mechanism. The primary benefit of these cam gears is their adjustability, offering up to 1 degree of crank angle adjustment. This precise control is facilitated by an integrated vernier degree scale, allowing for fine-tuning of camshaft timing.
