FA24 1000 Series Short Block

The IAG Performance IAG 1000 FA24 Short Block is designed for enthusiasts seeking to maximize their vehicle's performance, combining robust construction with high-horsepower capabilities for both street and track use. This short block is engineered to reliably support up to 1000 BHP, making it a formidable foundation for high-performance builds. Key components include +2mm IAG Spec H-Beam forged connecting rods, IAG-Spec JE Pistons featuring an electroless nickel-plated coating for durability, and H13 tool steel wrist pins. The block itself is precision-machined to integrate seamlessly with the Fire-Lock™ head gasket system and is designed to work with IAG 14mm head studs (sold separately). A standout feature is the unique closed deck system, which enhances the strength of the OEM case halves by supporting the cylinder walls to prevent flexing and potential cracking. This is achieved through a precise machining process using a Haas VF-4SS CNC mill to accept specially designed IAG Closed Deck inserts. These inserts are installed using a thermal shrink-fit method—heating the case halves while freezing the inserts with liquid nitrogen—before being machined to a mirror finish. Despite the closed deck design, the inserts incorporate small passages to maintain adequate coolant flow to the deck surface, ensuring the block's cooling efficiency and preventing overheating. This IAG 1000 FA24 Short Block is specifically designed for the 2022-2024 Subaru WRX models, including Base, GT, Limited, Premium, RS, Sport, Sport-tech, and TR submodels.
