FDS Front Mount Intercooler

The Integrated Engineering FDS intercooler is engineered to combat heat soak and maximize performance in modified VW and Audi 2.0T vehicles. When performance upgrades like ECU tuning, exhaust systems, or turbo upgrades are installed, intake air temperatures rise, leading to significant power loss. This intercooler directly replaces the factory unit, utilizing a substantially larger core and IE's proven FDS technology to efficiently manage heat. This is achieved through its larger core size and optimized airflow, which also leads to a decrease in pressure drop. By reducing pressure drop, the turbocharger requires less effort to produce boost, further enhancing performance. The construction features U.S. cast and machined end tanks, a dense bar-and-plate core, and precise TIG welding. Each unit is tested on an in-house station before shipping. Installation is designed as a direct OEM replacement, requiring no cutting or modification. It utilizes CNC machined mounting points to reuse factory locations. However, specific applications may have additional requirements: 2013.5+ MK6 Jetta & GLI with Gen 3 TSI require the IE Gen 3 MK6 Charge Pipe Kit (IETPCC12). Many Audi TSI models may require custom work to lengthen the passenger side inlet hose. VW CC, Eos, and B6/B7 Passat may require a custom inlet hose. The VW Tiguan requires custom intercooler hoses. It is recommended to use only the OEM radiator, as fitment with aftermarket radiators has not been confirmed. This intercooler has been tested to support over 700hp and is ideal for vehicles with upgraded turbos or aggressive ECU tunes. While installation requires technical expertise, no permanent vehicle modifications are necessary.
