The Integrated Engineering FDS Intercooler is precision engineered to combat heat soak and improve performance in a wide range of Audi B9 and C8 models, including the S4, S5, SQ5, A4, A5, A6, and A7. Utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, IE optimized the end tanks and FDS system for minimal pressure drop and maximum flow and cooling. By significantly increasing the core size and surface area with the unique IE Flow Distribution System (FDS), this intercooler effectively eliminates heat soak, which is characterized by a noticeable loss of power after prolonged acceleration or multiple power pulls. The FDS technology forces intake air to utilize the full intercooler core more effectively, resulting in lower intake air temperatures (IAT) and reduced pressure drop. In testing, the FDS Intercooler reduced pressure drop by approximately 70% on the B9 platform and consistently lowered IATs by 20C-30C on average. The kit includes the intercooler core, necessary hardware, and an installation manual. The intercooler is rated to support 650-740hp. A crucial fitment note: this intercooler is not compatible with late-model year vehicles equipped with active grille shutters. Buyers should verify if their facelift B9.5 car has this feature before ordering.
