FDS Intercooler

By utilizing a significantly larger core and Integrated Engineering's proprietary FDS (Flow Distribution System) technology, this intercooler maintains consistently lower intake air temperatures compared to OEM and competitor units, as supported by dyno charts. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software was employed to optimize the end tanks and FDS for minimal pressure drop and maximum flow and cooling. This optimized design not only lowers intake air temperatures but also reduces pressure drop, meaning less energy is lost as air travels through the intercooler. A reduced pressure drop allows the turbocharger to operate more efficiently and deliver more usable boost pressure to the engine. The intercooler features cast and machined end tanks, precise TIG welding, and a dense bar and plate core, all tested on an in-house station before shipping. This intercooler is a direct OEM replacement with minimal modification required, utilizing CNC machined mounting points and factory mounting locations for an installation that feels like a factory piece. The kit includes the FDS intercooler and all necessary hardware. Installation requires standard tools, some Torx bits, and technical expertise; an install guide and video are recommended prior to starting. This intercooler is not compatible with late-model year vehicles equipped with active grille shutters. Please verify if your facelift B9.5 car has this feature before ordering.
