FDS Intercooler

The Integrated Engineering FDS Intercooler is engineered to be the ultimate cooling solution for your VW MK7/MK8 or Audi 8V/8Y 1.8T/2.0T engine. It boasts a significantly larger, heat-soak-defeating core, providing 137% more volume than the stock unit and achieving a 74% reduction in intake air temperatures. This enhanced cooling capability ensures consistent power delivery and helps maintain peak performance, especially during demanding driving conditions or repeated power pulls. Constructed with Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) optimization, the intercooler features an internal Flow Distribution System (FDS™) that ensures airflow is evenly distributed across the entire massive bar and fin core (425mmX621mmX70mm). This design not only maximizes cooling efficiency but also results in a 9% lower pressure drop compared to stock. The inlet and outlet designs incorporate a high-grip surface to prevent boost leaks and ensure a secure connection for silicone hoses. Designed as a perfect OEM replacement, this intercooler requires no modifications for installation, utilizing factory mounting points for the radiator and intercooler. Included stainless steel mounting brackets provide improved condenser support. However, it's important to note that due to its substantial size and tight tolerances, some aftermarket radiators may not be compatible. Additionally, for 2022+ MK8 and 8Y vehicles, very minor trimming of the plastic radiator shroud may be necessary during installation. The product is also compatible with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). This intercooler has been proven on record-breaking vehicles and is capable of supporting over 600 horsepower. Real-world testing in controlled dyno conditions has shown increases in horsepower and torque attributed to reduced heat soak, improved core utilization via FDS technology, lower intake air temperatures, and reduced pressure drop.
