FDS Intercooler

When modifying your VW/Audi 2.0T with ECU tuning, exhaust, or turbo upgrades, intake air temperatures can rise, leading to significant power loss. This design effectively combats heat soak, ensuring consistent power delivery even after prolonged acceleration or multiple power pulls. The construction of the IE FDS intercooler includes U.S. cast and machined end tanks, precise TIG welding, and a dense bar-and-plate core. It is meticulously designed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software and 3D printed prototypes to optimize end tanks and the FDS system for rapid cooling, minimal pressure drop, and maximum flow. Installation is designed as a direct factory replacement, requiring no cutting or permanent modifications to the vehicle. However, it does require technical expertise. Certain Audi TSI models, 2013.5+ MK6 Jetta & GLI with Gen 3 TSI, and some VW CC, Eos, and B6/B7 Passat models may require custom work or specific additional kits (like the IE Gen 3 MK6 Charge Pipe Kit part number IETPCC12) for proper fitment. It is recommended to use the OEM radiator, as compatibility with aftermarket radiators has not been confirmed. The IE FDS intercooler has been tested to support over 700hp. Specific horsepower gains are dependent on the turbo setup and boost levels.
