The TruFiber A49-3 Fiberglass Heat Extractor Hood is a direct replacement for the stock hood on 2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT models, offering improved airflow and a race-inspired aesthetic. Constructed from hand-laid fiberglass with a smooth, paint-ready gel coat finish on both the top and underside, this hood is lighter than the OEM steel hood. Its aggressive, track-ready design enhances the S550's motorsport look. The hood is designed as a direct bolt-on using factory hood latch and hinges, requiring no tuning or electronics. However, it ships unpainted and will require professional prep and paint work. Hood struts are recommended for proper operation and safety. Explicit warnings state that this hood will not fit EcoBoost or V6 models and is not compatible with non-stock hinge hardware without modification. It is designed specifically for GT models, and users should ensure clearance if using aftermarket intake manifolds or engine dress-up kits. Professional installation is recommended for optimal paint and fitment alignment.
